If the machine needs an upgrade before it goes out — a bigger SSD, more memory — that is quoted at the same time rather than added afterwards. Most jobs are done in two to three days.
Then it comes with 90 days warranty. If something hardware-related goes wrong inside that window, you bring it back and we sort it out.
Why refurbished makes particular sense in Perth
Perth is a suburb of offices. Central Park, QV1, Brookfield Place, the run of towers along St Georges Terrace — those tenancies replace whole fleets of laptops and desktops every few years, and the machines coming out of them are usually three or four years old, well specified, and barely marked.

What "refurbished" means here
The word gets used loosely, so here is what it means on our bench.
A machine comes in. It gets opened, cleaned out and checked over — the parts that fail on a three-year-old laptop are known ones, and we look at them rather than hoping. Anything that is worn or failing gets replaced. The drive is wiped properly and the operating system goes on fresh. If the storage is small or slow for what the machine will be asked to do, it gets a new SSD. If the memory is tight, it gets more.
Then it is tested as a whole machine, not as a list of parts, and it goes on the shelf with 90 days warranty on it.
What it is not: a machine wiped and resold on the strength of it booting up. There is a lot of that around, particularly in private sales, and it is the reason people are wary of second-hand computers in the first place.
When refurbished is the wrong answer
We would rather say this up front than sell you the wrong thing.
If you need to run heavy video editing, large 3D work or current-generation machine learning, a three-year-old business laptop will frustrate you. Those jobs want current hardware and there is no way around it.
If you need a specific model on a specific day, refurbished stock does not work that way. We sell what has come in. Sometimes the machine you want is here and sometimes it is a fortnight away.
And if a machine you already own is only a couple of years old and has simply got slow, buying another one may be the expensive answer. An SSD and a memory upgrade often fixes it for a fraction of the cost, and we will tell you so.
Everything else — study, office work, email, browsing, streaming, spreadsheets, a home business, a second machine for the kids — refurbished does well, and the saving is real.

Getting the machine to you
We are in Bayswater, a short run up the road from the city. There is no showroom in Perth itself — the workshop is where the machines are, because that is where the bench is.
That suits how the suburb actually moves.
