Why the suburb changes the answer

We ask where you are before we say anything useful, because the right machine is not the same everywhere.

The city and the apartment suburbs

— Perth itself, East Perth, South Perth, Maylands. Around four in five homes in Perth are flats or apartments, and East Perth is mostly apartments too. Small desks, no room for a tower, and most people getting about on foot or on a train. Laptops and all-in-ones do well here, and a full tower is usually the wrong shape for the room.

The office end

— West Perth, and the towers along St Georges Terrace. This is where the hardware comes from as well as where a lot of it goes. Corporate tenancies replace their fleets every few years, and a three-year-old business machine is exactly what makes a good refurbished one. It is also where we get asked for several matching machines rather than one. Refurbished business computers

The strips

— Northbridge, Leederville, Mount Lawley, Victoria Park, Subiaco. Cafes, small agencies, sole traders and shopfronts. Usually one or two machines that have to work every day, with nobody in-house to fix them when they do not.

The older residential pockets

— Highgate, parts of Subiaco and Maylands. More houses, more home offices, and more machines that are three or four years old and have simply got slow rather than broken. That is often an upgrade rather than a purchase, and we will say so. SSD and memory upgrades

Getting the machine to you

There is no showroom in any of these suburbs. The workshop is in Bayswater, because that is where the bench is, and the bench is the whole reason to buy a refurbished machine from us rather than off a listing.

A laptop travels easily. A desktop tower does not, particularly if you are coming in on a train. Ring us before you settle on a shape and we will work out the sensible way to do it.
